Joseph William Trutch (1826-1904) was a West Coast pioneer. He was a civil engineer and contractor, served as a Member of the Vancouver Island House of Assembly, Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works for the Colony of British Columbia, Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of British Columbia (1871-1876) and Resident Agent of the Dominion Government in B.C.
